Anyone that's been following this blog for a while knows that I've been working on a memoir. Well, I am happy to say that the first draft is complete and has been read by a few friends. After receiving some amazing feedback from people (thank you!), I decided to make the writing a little more proactive. I came across a website that allows you to write, edit, and share chapters of a work as you're completing it. I thought this could be a great way to get my voice out there for more people while also giving me control over what is released and when.

The upside of isolation

It's been about 5 months since everything shut down and in that time I've done a lot of thinking. Some good, some bad, some positive, some negative, but all in all useful in some way. When you have nothing to do but sit with your thoughts, it really gives you a sense of who you are and how you're doing. Are you coping or just getting by? Are you thinking clearly or being erratic? Yes I'm about to write another "this thing in Hamilton made me think about my life" post. So sue me! My stepsister the other day called me "obsessed" but that's what people are going to say when they don't understand how much something has impacted your life. I wouldn't be who I am without Hamilton and there are so many things I come across (even now, years later) that make me think about everything I've been through in my life.

I'm not going to lie... I had a really rough week. As we rolled into July it just kind of hit me... wow, it's been almost 4 months since I've been around people! Today actually marks exactly 4 months since I last hugged another person.
